What Adad Is
Adad is an independent UAE-focused calculator platform. The site provides free tools for estimating common costs and observances faced by UAE residents: visa fees, end-of-service gratuity, DEWA bills, prayer times, zakat, gold prices, fuel prices, Salik tolls, and more. All calculators are built in-house, derive their logic from publicly available UAE government fee structures and regulations, and are kept current as rates change.
Adad is not affiliated with any UAE government entity, utility, or financial institution. It is an independently operated information resource. Calculator outputs are estimates intended to help with planning; final figures should always be verified with the official source before any binding decision.
How Adad Is Built and Maintained
Each calculator on the site implements a documented formula based on the official UAE source for that domain. For example, gratuity calculations follow the 21/30-day rules in UAE Federal Decree-Law 33/2021 (administered by MOHRE), DEWA bill estimates use the published slab tariffs from the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and visa fee estimates draw from the schedules published by ICP and GDRFA. Where live data is involved (gold prices, currency rates), the data provider is named on the calculator page.
The full source list, update cadence, and methodology for each tool is documented on the Methodology page. Every calculator page also displays its specific sources and a "last updated" date below the tool.
Editorial Approach
Adad's content is written to address the specific questions UAE residents ask, in plain language. Government fee structures and regulations are restated in simpler form with a link to the original source. Where any figure is an estimate, the assumptions are stated alongside it. Where a calculator depends on live data (gold, currency), the timestamp of the underlying data is shown.
When official rates change, fuel price announcements at the start of each month, DEWA tariff updates, new MOHRE circulars, the affected calculator and its source list are updated, with the new "last updated" date reflected on the page. If a discrepancy is spotted between Adad's output and the official source, the canonical answer is whatever the official source says, and the calculator is corrected.
