AED to PKR today.
Live UAE Dirham to Pakistani Rupee rate. Mid-market reference and typical UAE remittance house spreads. One of the largest AED remittance corridors.
The AED to PKR rate floats with the AED-USD peg (3.6725 fixed) and the USD-PKR rate, which is managed but not fixed by the State Bank of Pakistan. The live mid-market reference is on the main ADAD exchange tracker. Major UAE remittance houses (Al Ansari, Lulu, Sharaf, UAE Exchange, Joyalukkas) typically pay PKR 1 to PKR 3 below mid-market per AED, plus a fixed fee of AED 15 to AED 25.
Unlike the pegged AED, the PKR is managed but floats, and has structurally weakened against the USD for a decade, so you tend to receive more PKR per AED over time. Pakistan actively rewards formal remittances (bonus schemes, no tax under Section 111(4) through banking channels), and UAE houses credit JazzCash and EasyPaisa wallets in minutes, not just bank accounts.

- Al Ansari Exchange: branches across all emirates, app for tracking, typically PKR 1 to PKR 2.5 below mid-market. Fees from AED 16.
- Lulu Exchange: very competitive for the Pakistan corridor due to volume, PKR 1.5 to PKR 2 below mid-market.
- UAE Exchange: long-standing, comparable to Al Ansari pricing.
- Sharaf Exchange: competitive for higher amounts (above AED 5,000); spread tightens with size.
- Bank wire (Emirates NBD, ADCB, FAB): SWIFT to Pakistan, transparent but typically slower (1 to 2 business days) and pricier in spread.
For amounts over AED 10,000, ask the cashier for an "above-tier" rate. Spreads often improve by half.
Why the AED-PKR rate moves
The AED is fixed to the USD at 3.6725. All AED-PKR movement therefore comes from the USD-PKR rate, which is managed by the State Bank of Pakistan but allowed to drift within a band. PKR has structurally weakened versus USD over the past decade, meaning you receive more PKR per AED over time. Short-term moves are mostly driven by Pakistan reserves data, IMF programme news and remittance flows.
Practically: 1 AED equals USD 0.27225. Multiply 0.27225 by the live USD-PKR rate to compute the mid-market AED-PKR reference, before any remittance house spread or fee.
